Strangely, we have a bit of an issue with the “HR” tag that we almost have to use. Primarily because so many of our clients share with us their negative experiences of HR failing to deliver!

As far as Cream HR is concerned, that couldn't be further from the truth. We're a business consultancy that is all about delivery and results. We just happen to specialise in people! One of our clients doesn't like the HR tag either, referring to us instead as their “Human Asset Managers.” However, we’re not sure that being called “HAM’s" is any better than HR!

We try and keep things simple. Far too many people create unnecessarily complicated models and structures when trying to build successful organisations. In reality it boils down to a few simple things.

Your employees will thrive if they have -

  • A clear understanding of what is expected of them, where they fit in your organisation, what the structure is and what your organisation stands for.
  • The opportunity to use their strengths in their work, every day, as much as possible, and the chance to develop and grow those strengths over time to get better and better at what they do.
  • Regular and specific praise and appreciation for doing a job well. Saying thank you is great and makes a real and positive difference, saying a bit more than thank you is not much of stretch and can make an even bigger difference - the performance benefits are huge.
  • An employer that genuinely cares about them and their well-being. Employers that genuinely care about their employees reap the rewards in performance and commitment.

Most people need to work and most people want to do a good job. Provide them with the framework, structure and environment to do that and you’ll enjoy the results.
